Vocational Education and Training Institute Sedu is among the biggest VET providers in Finland. Sedu is a high-quality VET school with eight units in 11 study locations in the western part of Finland, in the region of South Ostrobothnia. Sedu provides over vocational qualifications in the following study sectors: Agriculture and Forestry, Beauty, Business and Entrepreneurship, Cleaning and Property Services, Electricity and Automation, Fashion, Interior Decoration and Textiles, Food and Tourism, Logistics, Mechanical Engineering and Production Technology, Media, ICT and Communication, Safety and Security, Vehicles, Welfare and Health and Wood and Construction. Altogether Sedu offers over 90 different vocational, further vocational or specialist vocational qualifications.
Sedu provides education for more than 5000 full time students and offers continuing education or further training annually for 10 000 students. In addition to that, Sedu offers preparatory vocational education and training for young people, as well as integration and language training from immigrants. Sedu has some 630 staff members, of which 400 are teachers.
Sedu is an international education provider with hundreds of students and staff members taking part in international exchanges every year. Annually we host about 100 international students and 100 staff members. Sedu has partner schools and other organizations in over 40 countries. Sedu is involved in 9 international projects in 2023, these include mobility and development projects.
As an acknowledgement of excellence, in 2018 Sedu won a national quality award from the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture. In 2021 Sedu received second time Erasmus + VET Mobility Charter, as proof of the successful work in student and staff mobilities.
AKMI
The Institute of Vocational Training AKMI is Greece’s largest VET provider, founded in 1989. It operates in 9 cities, enrolling around 18,000 students yearly in 112 specialties across 14 sectors. AKMI is part of the AKMI Group, which includes Metropolitan College and EEO Group. It offers post-secondary education at EQF levels 3-5 and collaborates internationally with organizations like ITEC and Pearson Edexcel. AKMI emphasizes social inclusion and aims to cultivate productive, broad-minded citizens through education. It has received numerous awards, including recognition as the most Innovative VET Provider in Europe by the European Vocational Skills Week in 2022. Additionally, AKMI SA is Greece’s only Centre of Vocational Excellence, affiliated with the European Network for Excellence.
BBS Nienburg
The BbS Nienburg educates about 2700 students in various numbers of professions for social care, trade, industry, commercial and administration activities, body care, electricians, IT services, nutrition, agriculture and home economics. The school also offers higher education entrance qualification.
The school has gained experiences in the field of transnational and multinational projects. The BbS Nienburg sent students and staff abroad and also hosted students and staff from partners in several countries.
The school is interested in developing the internationalisation of vocational education and training. Furthermore the school is interested in developing the international profile of the institute as well as the international competence of the staff in order to handle the NQF, the EQF and to work with the ECVET system together the partners of the dual system. BbS Nienburg installed an international department to develop internationalisation in VET and is also engaged in developing the staff’s competences in teaching and training on an international level.
Lage Landen
Ukraine – de Lage Landen Consulting Group is a Ukraine-based technical and project management consultancy specializing in technical assistance projects and trade/investment facilitation. Founded in 2005, they’ve have built up profound knowledge of the local environment and international procedures and requirements of technical assistance projects (European Commission, UN, Global Fund, WHO, USAID, OSCE). Being an official contractor of major donors, including the European Commission and UN, they have a vast pool of over 300 high-scale professional international and local experts. Since 2015, they are a member of the International Consulting Alliance.
TAIOTALO
Taitotalo is Finland’s foremost vocational adult education center, offering a diverse array of opportunities to enhance the skills of individuals, work teams, and organizations. With a team of 500 professionals, Taitotalo addresses the educational and training needs of approximately 25,000 adults annually.
Taitotalo specializes in providing professional skills and expertise through vocational education and training programs spanning 30 sectors/fields, including Business and Entrepreneurship, Cleaning and Property Services, Electricity and Automation, Logistics, Mechanical Engineering and Production Technology, Welfare and Health, Construction, Media, ICT and Communication, Safety and Security, and Vehicles.
The range of services offered by Taitotalo includes labor market training, integration training for immigrants, Competence and Vocational Skills Mapping, career guidance, YKI courses and tests, preparatory education for vocational training (TUVA), vocational Finnish courses for companies, and a wide variety of seminars.
Taitotalo’s vision is to be a leading partner in developing professional skills and serve as a quality hub for adult vocational education. Through project activities, Taitotalo continually enhances its processes and introduces new initiatives based on the evolving needs of the business sector. National and international development projects and initiatives constitute an integral part of Taitotalo’s activities, with its Erasmus+ mobility activities accredited until 2027.
In 2023, Taitotalo received a prestigious quality award from the Finnish Ministry of Culture and Education. WIISE
WIISE is a haven for immigrants and newcomers settling in Finland’s South Ostrobothnia region. Recognizing the hurdles newcomers face, WIISE functions as a local community organization offering a variety of integration support services.
Through frequent networking events, WIISE fosters a welcoming environment where newcomers can connect with others, build friendships, and gain valuable local knowledge. This sense of community can be invaluable in easing the transition to a new life. Furthermore, WIISE provides practical assistance to its members. They offer guidance on navigating the job market and even language training programs, equipping newcomers with the tools they need to thrive in their new home. With WIISE’s support, immigrants and newcomers in South Ostrobothnia can feel empowered to integrate successfully and build a fulfilling life in Finland.
FIRDA
Firda stands for strong vocational education in the Friesland region and northern Flevoland. However, we do more than provide vocational education. Because learning what kind of person you want to be is at least as important as the profession you practice. Those who continue to learn continue to develop. In addition, people learn not only at school, but continuously and everywhere: sometimes with each other, sometimes from each other, from people close to you or in the world around you. At Firda, people teach themselves through life.
