Integrating Ukrainians to VET
U2VET aims to integrate Ukrainian refugees into vocational training and further into society and labor market. Project partners will share and gather good practices related to the process of integrating Ukrainians to VET and develop a set of guides, tools and materials and pilot locally at the VET schools the whole process and integrate Ukrainian refugees into vocational training with the support of individual skills identification, integration training and preparatory training.
About the project
The project aims to respond to the critical needs of those fleeing the war from Ukraine. It utilizes effective means and tools of vocational training to facilitate their adaptation into society. This will be achieved through a multi-step process:
- Individual skills identification and integration: The project will assess each person’s unique skills and experience.
- Preparatory and vocational training: Based on the identified skills, individuals will receive targeted training to prepare them for the workforce.
The project develops, in cooperation with local companies, flexible and agile paths to working life. These customized study paths will be formed based on the specific needs of the current job market.
In addition to the traditional study paths such as apprenticeships, the project aims to find innovative and faster paths to employment. This will be achieved by utilizing smaller sets of focused skills and micro-credentials.
Overall, the project will comprehensively support Ukrainians in their efforts to:
- Gain vocational education and employment.
- Have their knowledge, skills, and education recognized and approved in their new country.
- Adapt to the ever-changing labor market needs.
- Increase the flexibility and accessibility of opportunities in vocational education and training.
The project will achieve these ambitious objectives by partnering with organizations that understand the ethical needs of society to adapt to immigrants. This partnership will ensure that Ukrainians receive:
- Accurate and relevant information about the job market and integration process.
- Visualization of the process and institutions they need to be familiar with.
- Encouragement to adopt self-directed learning models that empower them to take control of their future.
Additionally, the project will support them in effectively communicating their needs and provide tangible opportunities to develop their skills and career prospects in their new country.
