The U2VET project`s first pilot phase

During the application phase, the client receives important information but also shares details about themselves: When we get to know you, it becomes easier for us to help you.

The integration of those fleeing from Ukraine into their new home country is supported by the opportunity to work. Vocational education increases the chances of Ukrainians entering the labor market.

The project is creating a European model that outlines a tailored, functional application phase, preparatory training, and flexible study paths into vocational education, listening to the student’s personal goals.

We have progressed to the pilot of the application phase, i.e., work package WP2. The model will be piloted from January to April 2025 in partner institutions in Finland, the Netherlands, and Germany. Teachers and trainers involved in customer work will pilot the process and guide created by the project team for Ukrainian clients in the application phase. Feedback will be collected from both the guidance staff and their clients. This feedback will be considered when making the final adjustments to the process and guides at the end of the project.

The project is already advanced in writing the process and guide for preparatory training (WP3) and vocational training (WP4) for the online platform. In October, a broader training pilot will take place for the guidance staff, including teachers and trainers. During this time, the entire European model will be reviewed in Athens, Greece. AKMI will host the training session. Both trainers and learners from all participating institutions will take part in the training. These individuals will become key figures in the future. They will share information and train others on the model within their own organizations. This ensures the spread of knowledge.

Here in Finland, we are finally on our way towards summer! Sunny greetings from Finland!
